European Parliament VP Speaks About China Trip


NTDTV: During his visit to Beijing in May 2006 vice-president of the European Parliament, Edward McMillan-Scott, talked with two Falun Gong practitioners about persecution and torture they had suffered. Within 2 hours after the meeting, the two Falun Gong practitioners where arrested by CCP security agents. Well our correspondent in Brussels had a chance to catch up with the vice-president of the European Parliament to learn about his trip. STORY: It is almost two years ago that McMillan-Scott had a meeting in Beijing with two Falun Gong practitioners. Since then he has paid close attention to their situation. “I am particularly concerned, because when I was in Beijing in May 2006 all of the people I had contact with where arrested. In most cases they where later imprisoned and in some cases tortured… I think it is quit extraordinary that Cao Dong was convicted to five years in jail because he met me.”
During his meeting with McMillan-Scott, Cao Dong had talked about Falun Gong practitioners, having their organs removed in prisons, which are then sold for large amounts of money. [Edward McMillan-Scott, Vice-President European Parliament]:
“In the case of Cao Dong who told me about organ harvesting, he personally witnessed his friend’s body. His friend disappeared from the cell one night and he later saw his friend’s body in the prison hospital with holes where body parts had been removed.”
