In the year 1999 the Chinese communist regime banned Falun Gong. Some in the Communist Party felt that its popularity posed a threat to their grip on power. Tens of millions of Chinese citizens were branded criminals overnight.
Tina, along with countless others, traveled to Beijing to appeal against the ban. There she was arrested and spent almost three years in prison and in labor camps where she was beaten and tortured. This is her story.
On 20th July 1999, the Communist Party issued orders that no one was allowed to practice Falun Gong any more.
In the year 2000 Tina decided to go to Beijing. She appealed on Tiananmen Square and was soon arrested. Read more
